DC Β· Doctor of Chiropractic
Book with Dr. O'Mara βDr. Patrick O'Mara grew up in upstate New York where chiropractic care was woven into his life as a competitive soccer player β a firsthand experience with athletic injury and recovery that shaped everything about how he approaches patient care today. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology while playing varsity soccer, developing a deeply analytical understanding of biomechanics, movement, and how the body responds to load.
From RIT, Dr. O'Mara pursued his Doctorate of Chiropractic at D'Youville University in Buffalo, NY β gaining clinical experience across a wide range of settings and mastering a comprehensive toolkit of manipulation and soft tissue techniques. His engineering background gives him a uniquely systematic approach: he doesn't just treat pain where it presents, he analyzes the mechanical chain to understand why it developed.
At Pittsburgh Physical Medicine, Dr. O'Mara brings this biomechanical perspective to every patient. Whether he's working with a Lawrenceville CrossFitter dealing with a shoulder injury, a Highland Park runner managing IT band syndrome, or an Oakland desk worker with chronic neck pain, his approach is the same: identify what's actually driving the dysfunction, address it efficiently, and give the patient the tools to prevent recurrence.
He is known for his calm, methodical approach and for his ability to explain complex mechanical concepts in plain, understandable terms. His patients consistently describe him as thorough, unhurried, and genuinely invested in their progress.
